The Schwarzwald-Baar region is known for the excellent ecology, incredibly beautiful nature and the famous salt extracted at a depth of 300 m from the bottom of an ancient sea. This salt is widely used for medical purposes by preparation of salt baths and solutions.

It is well known, that salt baths help to treat and prevent musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and respiratory diseases. Cosmetic treatments with curative water have rejuvenating effect, improve skin complexion and accelerate body metabolism.

The salt-water spa complex "Solemar" is considered as one of the most luxurious sauna centers in Germany. It is 12,000 square meter large and includes a variety of saunas and baths, 13 indoor and outdoor pools filled with curative water of different temperatures, fountains and even a geyser bath. Physiotherapy, physical training, thermotherapy and sports therapy are also available in the center.

"Solemar" is called "the beautiful sea of the Black Forest" and the visitors can relax and recuperate here like at a seaside resort. The Salt grotto is a real gem of the spa complex. About 9500 "salt bricks" were used for its construction and thus there is unique microclimate in the grotto, which favours wonderful relaxation.
